Undergraduate Math Credential Pathways
Students who have made the decision to become a math secondary teacher have the opportunity to combine their undergraduate and graduate studies and accelerate the timeline to becoming a math teacher (Joint Math Education Program). JMEP students begin credential work in their senior year as an undergraduate, and then complete their Masters of Education in the year following graduation. This program is a collaboration between the UCLA Mathematics department and the UCLA Graduate School of Education.
The math department also offers the Integrated Pathway program which enables math students to complete their credential work as an undergraduate.
For more information and to apply for either JMEP or the Integrated Pathway, please go to the UCLA Curtis Center for Mathematics and Teaching. Also see UCLA Graduate School of Education Undergraduate Programs.
